I would like to submit another song for consideration for my theme song. Walk on Water by Neil Diamond.

I literally listened to this song 24 hours a day on repeat. In the car on the way to daycare and work. And then all day at work. And then on the way home. It was a few weeks ago when I was going through the decision of leaving my job and each day needing the strength to have the hard conversations with my supervisor and managers. And having Neil’s support was what I needed at the time. And amm too. We listened to Neil so much in the hospital. And it was just a fluke that I heard this song a few weeks ago and realized how much I loved it. And that made me research it more and many people describe it as following a woman’s spiritual journey. And that’s when the song had true meaning for me.

What makes this even better was a text that I received from Nick:

So now when we are in the car, Arrine will ask to listen to Walk on Water and to turn it up loud! And then we sing together.

***********

Walk on water, ain’t it like her
She leads the children
Ain’t it right, ain’t it right, ain’t it right

And ain’t it wond’rous,
The way she does it
Gives love and loves it
Ain’t it right, ain’t it right, ain’t it right

Light de light, we got mornin’,
Mornin’ makes another day
Glory sight, got de dawnin’
Lordy, light the night away

Light de light, we got de mornin’,
Mornin’ makes another day
Glory sight, got de dawnin’
Lordy, light the night away

Light de light, we got mornin’,
Mornin’ makes another day
Glory sight, got de dawnin’
Lordy, light the night away

She walks on water,
Ah, ain’t it like her
She leads the children
Ain’t it right, ain’t it right, ain’t it right
