A foul word hardly left the lips of amm, but I can remember hearing bleeps coming from her sewing room. And almost all of the time it was because of serger frustration.

Sergers are a wonderful machine, but I’ve been told threading them can be a nightmare. Never have I had to thread a serger before – I would always ask amm. Until today. Starting on Arrine’s Hallowe’en costume I thought it would be a good excuse to figure out this darn machine on my own.

And lucky for me, it was still threaded from the last time amm had used it. I got some scrap material and started playing around with it. Singer Ultralock 14 U64A. Then I was figuring out the presser foot and then it happened. All four needles were no longer threaded.
