I am slowing making my way through my shelf of books that are in the “to read” category. I picked one out of the stack the other night and was pleasantly surprised to see a neon green apple PostIt note stuck to the front with the simple note:
“KK ~a recycled gift~ xxoo”
The book is Laced by Carol Higgins Clark. I have never read anything by this author, but there is another book by her mother, Mary Higgins Clark, that is on my shelf of “to read” books. It’s a holiday themed book and was given to me by Marlene, as amm had given it to her the Christmas before. I will read it later this winter.
When I unstuck the PostIt note from the front cover to use as a bookmark, it didn’t give easily. The note must have been on the cover for a while. Right away I felt bad for taking the PostIt note off the cover, thinking that I should have left it as amm had last touched it. But I have to let things like this go. I remind myself that I can’t keep everything exactly as amm left them, nor feel guilty for changing things. It’s hard to describe. I can’t describe it.
