Our family visited Batoche on July 24, 2009. We visited amm’s great-grandmother’s grave, took time to walk the prairies and absorbed the calmness of the site. The rich history of the area can be felt in the air.
We left the dried petals I saved from the flowers amm received while in the hospital, yellow roses, tiger lilies from amm’s perennial garden, rosaries amm was given while she was ill and a white cherub amm’s mom brought for her while she was in the hospital.
We look forward to next summer’s visit, and the summer after that, and the summer after that…
