amm fell in love with Sticky Toffee Pudding during our trip to Scotland in the fall of 2008. By the time Nick and I arrived to meet up with amm and Charles, they had been in the country for a week and amm had already sampled the dessert at least four times. It became our vacation theme that whenever we were in a restaurant that served Sticky Toffee Pudding, we had to order it. It was decided that at the end of the trip the best we had was at the clubhouse in St. Andrews.
During the holidays last year (2008), amm recreated the delish dessert for Christmas Eve. She perfected the recipe by combining the cake/pudding from Canadian Living and the sauce from a website of a Scottish hotel. Now amm is normally very generous with sharing her recipes, but not with this one. She would only share with me when I told her I wanted to make it for Nick’s birthday. Huh. And there is some story about Lise’s husband’s co-workers wanting the recipe and amm provided a bit of a riddle for them to figure out to get their hands on the information.
But I am sharing it with you here. And I shared it for the Beta Sigma Phi Christmas Chronicle this year. This is HUGE, people!
